Buffy Riloff | 22 years old | Schizophrenia | Face Claim: Sarah Michelle Gellar | TAKEN

Emma was sent to St. Brittens by her parents when she became delusional and thought she was a vampire slayer. She had previously been in a com and thinks that everything from it was real. The med’s she received during it gave her an ability to withstand more than a normal human can. This gives her even more reason to believe that she is a  slayer. She killed a man because she had reason to believe that he was a vampire and her parents didn’t want her getting arrested so St. Brittens was their only option.

Oliver Everstark | 19 years old | Atychiphobia, Depression, Murder, Selective Mutism | Face Claim: Tom Daley | TAKEN

Oliver was always a model child, the  one that would loan you things and help you with your work. He was always trying to get on people’s good side, but underneath it all, Oliver had an irrational fear of rejection. Oliver was always anxious around others, but put on a false front to make him feel loved by others. He had to do everything right in his social relationship, and his doctor had told him that he had atychiphobia, the fear of faliure. All of his life he was striving for  perfection, and now he felt broken.
Oliver fell out of his social circle and now was the weird burnout of his school, which caused him not to eat, sleep or talk. All of his friends now watched him like he was an alien, and that caused him to become incredibly angry. On one of his old friend’s birthdays, they were having a party and hadn’t invited him, so he decided to invite himself., His old friend didn’t want him there, so he bugged out and attacked the friend, killing him infront of everyone. The police were called, and when they found out his mentality, they decided that a mental hospital would be the best.

David Carillo | 19 years old | Cotard’s Delusion, Avoidant Personality Disorder | Face Claim: Devon Bostick | TAKEN

As a boy, David found it impossible to fit in. He was handsome enough, and fairly bright. His problem, however, was that in his mind, he was not alive. David suffered from the delusion that he had already died. His family, in his mind, had tricked him into believing that he was alive. Everyone tried their hardest to convince him otherwise, but the boy was certain. He left home and began living in a cemetery. It was the only place he felt he belonged. At 22, he was arrested trying to steal from a local market, but when he chopped off three toes on his right foot in an effort to prove he was dead, the state realized the severity of his mental illness, and shipped him off to St.Britten’s.

In the institution, David rarely speaks to others. He is quiet, reclusive, and still hangs on to the belief that he isn’t living. Not many people have seen him, despite his being there for almost a year. His family is still unaware of his whereabouts.

Nora Gallagher | 19 years old | Anorexia, Psychotic Depression, Isolation | Face Claim: Marissa von Bleicken | TAKEN

Nora Gallagher was always the more interesting sister of the three in her family. Anyone who knew her or saw her would immediately take notice of her looks, something she could never make up her mind about. As a child, she was very quiet, only ever opening up to her older sister. When her mother committed suicide, her life turned bleak. Because her father was never around to take care of her and her sisters due to his PTSD, Nora was raised by family friends. She felt so lonely growing up, now that her sister she once depended on was becoming very social and letting go of her family. Nora’s anorexia became her friend, but since she’s come to St. Britten’s, she feels even lonelier than when she started out. She believes that she does not, in fact, have to get better, that living this life of despair is the only way to live, but what she doesn’t realize is that she is effecting her sisters and father by being this way.

Amelia Pond | 26 years old | Automatonophobia, Nightmare Disorder, Agoraphobia   | Face claim: Karen Gillan | TAKEN

Amelia was a troubled little girl. Living with her aunt as both parents were out of the picture, for reasons she didn’t know, she didn’t have many friends. But that wasn’t all that bad, it was the nightmares that made things awful. Every night she would have horrible dreams, visions of death, and sadness, and pain. Monsters and Aliens were part of it, as anyone would expect, but the part that made them truly scary was the inhumanity of the people in them. In the third grade after a two week long series of dreams featuring what she called the ‘Weeping Angels’, Amelia developed Automatonophobia, the fear of statues. It’s wasn’t serious at first, she was wary and on edge in places that had a lot of them, but it was manage able. As she grew older it got worse. Eventually she was sent to St. Britten’s, where she was diagnosed with Nightmare Disorder, Automantonophobia, and also Agoraphobia, an anxiety disorder.

Now at St. Britten’s, Amy is getting better. She’s much more relaxed, and has started to come into the personality she had before her fears took over. She’s smart, spunky, and very caring. She might have an odd way of showing it, as she doesn’t put up with stupidity, but she cares for everyone she meets, and likes to help them in any way she can.

Catalina Diaz  | 21 years old | Psychopath, Sex Addict, Emotional Abuse, Pansexual | Face claim: Naya Rivera | TAKEN

Catalina didn’t think she’d ever have any problems. She was a tough little girl, and if any one messed with her, she hurt first and asked questions later. It helped that she was her daddy’s little princess, and he bought her anything she could want. Neither of her parent were very affectionate, beside with their money, but it never bother Catalina. She had her Abuela, and she cared for her more than anyone in the world. As Catalina grew older, her Abuela started to notice not everything was right with her. She would smile sweetly at people when they were nice to her, or gave her what she wanted, but the slightest thing could anger her. She was manipulative, using flirting to get boys to do things for her, and using her strenght to get girls to listen to her. By the time she reached high school, Catalina was on of the food chart, no one double crossed her, and she could do whatever she wanted and whoever she wanted. At least, she thought she could. Catalina knew from the time she was very young she didn’t care about gender. The boys and girls she had crushes on didn’t differentiate for her; they were people, and she liked them. So when she found a girl her Freshman year of college,  she went for it the same way she did everything. And for once she was truly happy with someone. She hadn’t, however, told her Abuela about her taste in partners, and when she brought Elizabeth home, thing went bad. Catalina couldn’t stand the yelling and insults from the one person who’d ever really cared about her, and she blamed Ellie. A few weeks later, when she was over at Ellie’s apartment, she killed her, thinking that would take care of her problems. If Ellie didn’t exist, her Abuela would love her again. but when she told this to her Abuela, she was horrifed and sent Catalina to St. Britten’s.

Catalina’s pretty much in her element here. She finds it easy to seduce the men, and most of the women, here, and she’s a huge fan of the children’s hall. She doesn’t try to scare the kids, but she’s always willing to give the girls ‘help’ with anything they might need. She’s rather intrigued by Felicity, but wont let herself get close to her in any way.

Carmen Arlestson | 21 years old | Adjustment Disorder, PTSD, Severe Anxiety | Face claim: Jennifer Lawrence | TAKEN

Carmen spent her entire life inside The Gate, and never questioned the words of The Prophet, not until those words demanded her fourteen year old sister marry her uncle, almost fifty years her senior. Carmen was one of The Chosen Ones, known to the world as a polygamist cult. Carmen, along with the twenty brothers and sisters, grew up in a different world. They were not allowed to read anything but scripture, they could not listen to outside music, and they were never to leave the Gate. But Carmen loved reading. The stories that could take her away from her husband and sister wives, from the need to take care of the many children running around her house. Married at thirteen, Carmen was one of the lucky ones. Her husband was kind, much like her father, and she was his third wife, which would make her his last unless he chose otherwise. She got along pretty well with her sister wives, they were much closer then some. But the news of her sister marriage shocked her. Practically having raised Kyra, and knowing how horrific the marriage would be for her, Carmen did the only thing she could. Using the knowledge she had from books she’d read unknown to others, in the middle of the night she tried to save her family. In the end only five of them made it out; Her, Kyra, Gweneth, Jason, and Benjamin. The others were taken back inside the Gate, and the idea of what might have happened to them plagues Carmen with guilt constantly. The five were sent to St. Britten’s when they tried to explain why they needed help, and no one believed them.

Now she never quite feels safe, and spend almost all the time she isn’t with her family in the library, stealing away into the stories and tales. She’s very strong, emotionally and physically, and if she sees anyone messing with any of her siblings, even Jason, who is older than her, she doesn’t hesitant to stand up for them. She often worries that the Chosen Ones will come back for her and her siblings, and so she tries to keep their presence her as normal as possible, and not cause any scenes.
